Rathaus (City Hall) is the seat of the City Council Chamber, the Red Hall, the People's Hall, the Mayor's Office, the Municipal Library and the Archives of the City of Vienna. It was designed by Friedrich Schmidt and built between 1872 and 1883. It has 4 over 61m high towers and a 98m central tower with the 3m tall copper 'Knight of the City Hall' ('Eisener Rathausmann').
