Mezotne Palace stands on the very bank of the river Lielupe. It was built in the years 1798-1802 after Quarenghi's draft and according to J.G.A. Berlitz's classicism style project. This palace has belonged to princess Scharlotte von Lieven, the governes of the Russian Emperor's Pavel 1 children. The palace interior is restored and furnished with style furniture. The romantic scenery park offers recreation in the green at the slowly flowing Lielupe, where on the opposite bank rises the castle mound of the ancient semgals.
