"Easy AND cheap!" Prague Transportation Tip by RockTadgers

Prague Transportation: 716 reviews and 706 photos

Forget paying daft amounts of money for a taxi from the airport to the centre of Prague...take your sense of adventure and do it like the locals instead....

A ninety minute bus/metro/tram ticket is available from the machine at the stop across from the terminal. This will allow you to jump on and off as many modes of transport as possible for just 12kc (About 30p)

The 253 bus will take you through to Dejvicka (DAY-VITS-KA), the furthermost stop on the green line. The Prague metro is simple to use, because it only has three lines as opposed to London's three hundred or so.

The green line will deposit you right in the very heart of Prague, at either Mustek or Muzeum. From there, you should be able to make the transfer and get anywhere you want.

For most central locations, the transfer via bus and metro should take about half an hour. Which is about how long it would take by taxi, after you've haggled about for a bit.
