Parkview is located on Wellington Road, close to Cork's train and bus stations. However, there seemed to be nothing rough or seedy about Wellington Road, in fact it was quite pleasant and green, if a bit steep.

Marion and Fin, with the help of their dog Ellie, run Parkview with good humour and great Irish hospitality. I arrived at a ridiculous early hour to drop off my bags and was fed coffee and toast till my room became vacant. Parkview is packed wherever you look with interesting and witty items, plates on the walls, models over the doors, plaques, thimble collections, photos of celebrities etc. I liked the plaque that said "If you want breakfast in bed, then sleep in the kitchen" :-)

The price of the room was very reasonable, though when I booked the only room available did not have en-suite facilities - no problems for me, it was 20 Euros less!!

There is more choice of B&B's on Western Road, the other side of the city, but if you don't need carparking and want to be close to the city centre, you can't go wrong here. There are also fabulous panoramic views of Cork from the front of the house.

Probably the nicest B&B I have ever stayed in!!
