"Open Mic Nights" Gentry on State - Closed Tip by Hillari

Gentry on State - Closed, Chicago: 1 reviews and 0 photos

Gentry on State has an open mic on Sunday nights at 9:00 PM in their cabaret room. If you love to sing, this is the spot for you! You put your name on a napkin and give it to the pianist, who calls names at random. The regulars show up with sheet music, but the pianist is familiar with many tunes, so don't worry if you don't have music with you. It is an encouraging atmosphere, so don't worry about boos and hisses. It's all about having fun. Those who aren't brave enough to go up to the mic, can opt to just enjoy the music instead. There is no cover, but there is a two-drink miminum. Be advised that this is a gay bar, but it is straight-friendly.
