Behind the Deesis mosaic you will find this crazy man's tomb. Dandolo(Henricus Dandolo in the inscription in Latin) was a dodge of Venice, and the leader of 4th Crusade (1203- 1205). It is a very famous story, but the 4th. Crudade was founded to help the Byzantine Empire. However, Dandolo changed his mind, because the wealth of Constantinople blinded his eyes. He orderd his soldiers to attack Constantinople. Crudade attacked Christian Capital!!! At last, this glorious city fell to "Christian" soldiers, and they plundered this city. Even now, there is a Bronze statue of a carriage and four horses at St. Mark in Venice. It was stolen then. Anyway, a story says that after Ottoman conquest, his tomb was open, and his born threw to dogs....
