If you are in New York then I seriously suggest that you get yourself up to the Empire State Building Observtory.

I can't really describe the views from up there apart from - Wow!

You will unfortunately have to queue to get up. But you can avoid some of the queue by pre purchasing tickets. You can do this on http://www.esbnyc.com/ which is the official site. This website has all sorts of information, like the lighting schedule and what the colours mean.

At the obervatory there is a shop and a few binoculars (for a smal fee) if you have forgotten your own. Don't forget your camera!

Current price is $13 for an adult and $8 for a child, well worth the money.

PS If you were wondering the building is 1,454 feet tall.

Address: 350 5th Avenue
Directions: 1, 2, 3 or 9 (Seventh Avenue Lines), A, C or E (Eighth Avenue Subway) to 34th Street/Penn Station.
