"Ayoun Stream and Waterfalls" Israel Off The Beaten Path Tip by Bregman

Ayoun Stream is one of the nicest and most popular hikes. It's right next to Metulla so it's very accessible. You can either take the entire hike or just go directly to the Oven Fall, a mere several hundreds metres walk. If you are really lazy you can just stop your car on the main road and catch a glimpe of the waterfalls. If you have the time, I recommend to go the distance and walk the whole trail. It's quite an easy walk. You can go either way, but it's easier to start at the northern gate (right next to the Lebanese border) and exit at the main gate (the southern one). Along the trail you will see the Mill Fall and, towards the end, the Oven Fall which is about 30 metres high.
Notice that in the summer some of the water is diverted by Lebanese farmers, so the best season to some here is early spring or winter (it could be quite muddy and even flooded if you come after several rainy days).
See more pictures in the travelogue.
If you plan on doing the short trail, drive to the main gate just before Metulla on road number 90. For the full trail, go through Metulla to the little wood on the Lebanese border.
