Candles inside the Cathedral

Inside the Cathedral is very Gothic in appearance - high and dark. The space it encloses is huge: it does dominate all other buildings in Cologne but it was only inside that I became aware of its size.

I had to check the main columns as their sections gave me troubles on my History of Gothic Architecture exam on 3rd year. At that time I did not pass the exam because I didn't know the section of the main pillars. Now it was the chance to learn in first hand from personal experience.

We didn't go to the Treasury of the cathedral which is very famous, but instead we lit a candles and sat for a few moments in peace and meditation - something that I love about churches like this.
