Currently there are no boat trips to the National Park because it has not been re-opened after Hurricane Katrina. It is expected to open again in the fall of 2006. It is unknown when or whether boat trips will resume.

We left the dock at 2 p.m. and got to the park at about 2:30 - earlier than usual because we were going with the tide. After the ranger talk we had just about enough time to walk over to the battlefield and then the Creole Queen started blowing her whistle at 3:14. We had to be back on the boat to leave by 3:20. This is a very short time to take in all there is at this site.
