"Serbian Orthodox Church viewed from the rear" Church - Sts Cyril and Methodius - Serbian Orthodox Tip by hundwalder

Serbian Orthodox church rear view and baptistry
by hundwalder

Closeup view of the rear three towers of one of the most beautiful churches I have seen anywhere. The architecture of the church is distinctly Serbian, with only a slight Byzantine influence. The domes covering these masterfully designed octagonal towers are works of geometric art. Serbian style columns form each corner of the towers. Similar columns grace the entire church. The church contains many superimposed arches, and there are numerous narrow arches filled with brilliant stained glass windows. The architectural focus of Serbian Orthodox churches is always pleasing geometric designs as opposed to the elaborate ornamentation of many Catholic churches and cathederals.

Don't miss this gem of a church. It is on the way to Tivoli park, so no extra effort is required.

Address: Presernova Cesta
Directions: Off Presernova cesta on the way to Tivoli Park. The easy and scenic walk from old town to this church was given a degree of difficulty of 1.0 by the hound.
