The Church of the Holy Family (El Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia) is righteously said to be Gaudi's masterpiece.

Its spires, each more than 100m tall, dominate the city skyline.

In 1891, 9 years after the construction started on the neo-Gothic cathedral, the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudi y Cornet took over as official architect and made the project a personal obsession. When Gaudi died in a trolley accident in 1926, the cathedral was left unfinished. The construction began again in 1979, closely following Gaudi's plan. It's not finished yet!
