San Vitale, built at the end of 11th century, was comissioned by Doge Vitale Falier who wanted to dedicate this church to his homonym. Later, in the 17th century, the church was restored, especially the front facade which got completely new look.
It is one nave church with vault ceiling, and keeps inside valuable paintings by Pellegrini and Piazzetta. The best known, however, is the famous painting "San Vitale a Cavallo" by Vittore Carpaccio.
