The Wa:k Snack Shop is located within walking distance of Mission San Xavier Del Bac, and is run by the local natives on the San Xavier Reservation. They serve burgers, fries, and drinks, but the main item here is the Indian Fry Bread, which is basically deep-fried dough.

You step up to a counter to order your food, and you can take out, or eat on the shaded concrete tables in front of the tiny building that houses the counter and kitchen.

This is Slow Food. Very slow food. Each order is made fresh, and line-ups can be huge. We waited an hour for our order.

Favorite Dish: We had a Foldover, which is Indian Fry Bread, cooked in a pizza-shape, then we had it filled with refried beans and cheese, and it is folded over into a half-moon shape. It was huge, and two people can share it comfortably. It was delicious, though fairly bland, but lots of hot sauce fixed that up.

The food here is good, but be prepared to wait a long time for it. Not a place to eat at if you are on a schedule.
