If time permits, the museum is well worth a visit. The main focus of the exhibits are the funerary busts and artifacts, but there are interesting tablets engraved with Palmyrene (a form of Aramaic mixed with Arabic, an indication of a considerable Arab presence in the town even in Classical times) script, mosaics, glass, architectural pieces, statues, textiles, etc.

The museum is open daily 0800-1300 and then 1600-1800 in summer and 1400-1600 in winter.

Directions: At the entrance into the town of Tadmor, just past the ruins.
