This photo is from the National Park's brochure at Cabrillo National Monument. This park is on Point Loma and from here you will see the sweeping view of San Diego.
We started at the Visitor's Center where we saw a slide show about the Ecological Reserve there. It was very informative, describing the tidal pools that are at the base of the point.
Besides the panoramic views of the harbor you will find a wonderful exhibit in the Visitor's Center of the area's cultural and military history. They have done a great job displaying information about the Spanish exploration by Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo in 1542.
While at the Cabrillo Statue we saw a submarine coming into the Bay.

This was a celebration day for us! My husband was able to purchase his Golden Park Pass here for $10. This pass is good for the rest of his life to all the National Parks and Monuments in the United States!
So many parks........how many years?
