Living in the rock formation and caves below Wawel Hill, the dragon was a nasty beast that would feast on virgins and stealing sheep. There is now a statue of the dragon guarding his cave home. You need a ticket to enter his cave. You will also see sculptures of the Dragon's head throughout Wawel Hill.

The dragon was eventually killed by "Krak", the founder of Krakow. He tricked the dragon into eating a sheep that was stuffed with tar and sulphur. This caused the sheet to explode inside the dragon and killed it. This is a good site if you have kids.

Address: Wawel Hill, Krakow
Directions: Historical centre.
