  bride's hands adorned with mehendi

Mehendi or henna tatoos are very important in Indian ceremony and wedding. Brides will have their feet and hands covered in the mehendi. Anyone can get this done. Usually, people go for a more simpler design. More intricate work is reserved for weddings. Many places in little india offer this work. Just walk down Serangoon road.

Some advice, if you are getting it on your feet-where sandals. It takes 35-45 minutes for the henna to try. It then flakes off. You want to be quite still while it dries-since the littlest movement can smear it. It lasts for a little over a week.
