The Erasmus Bridge, together with the Willems Bridge is the second bridge in the centre of Rotterdam, crossing the Meuse river. This one connects the quarter Kop van Zuid (Head of South) with the citycentre at the Northbank of the river.

The Erasmus Bridge has a length of 808 metres. In the middle the bridge hangs on a 139 metres high concrete pillar. Due to itīs typical shape the bridge is named The Swan. Between the Head of South and this pillar there is a piece of 89 metres that can be opened for ship that canīt go under the Bridge.

At the northbank there is built a parking, a restaurant and the departurestation of the Spido boats under the bridge. The bridge was designed by UN Studio, from 1990 and was finished in 1996.

Address: Erasmusbrug, Rotterdam
Directions: From the roundabout at the Coolsingel, go straight south towards the Head of South. Then youīll cross it. There is no fee to this bridge and itīs also opened for pedestrians.
