General Tip!: "Avoid Central London hotels - not worth it" England Hotel Tip by JosephHYLai

If you are planning to stay in London. Unless you are on a 5 star budget, I would suggest not to stay in a Central London (this includes the West End) Hotels.
My experience with seeing hotels in the 3-star or below, Hotels is that they are over-priced and very poor value for money.
A friend stayed near Bayswater in a £50 a night B&B Hotel... the room was so small that when the room door was opened it hit the bed.
Another friend stayed at an upmarket hotel on the Strand, paying over £170 per night B&B. The room had a window that would fall down if opened, the wall had a huge hole in the plaster board and it smelt bad!
My suggestion, is to find yourself a private B&B on the outskirts of London. I did that when I first came to London. I stayed in a B&B right next to Kew Gardens.. it was a lovely room decorated in Laura Ashley (well this was 15 years ago when this style was fashionable) and stayed with a friendly family. Ok, it takes a little more time to travel into Central London... but it was such a relief at the end of a hectic sightseeing day to come out to the peace and quiet of a suburban home.
