This lobby in the Terminal Tower (aka Tower City Center) is on the National Register of Historic Places. The lobby furnishings, decor, architecture and artwork on the ceiling is very beautiful, ornate and classical. It is a reminder of a different time in Cleveland, when there was more money, and civic pride (dare I say!).
This building and lobby was, and still is, a major downtown hub of pedestrian traffic from all over downtown Cleveland. Although the entire tower had its glory days (like Higbee's, etc) the beautiful facade is still there. Look up like a tourist and take it in! :)
Anyway, I'm creating a tip more specifically for the lobby within the Terminal Tower, as evidenced by the photo. It's gorgeous!
Directions: The main entrance to the lobby is located on a crescent-shaped, one-way road that can be accessed from Superior & West Roadway. Parking is forbidden, as that it is for cab stands and drop off/pick up. See the website for parking details.
