"The Last Supper" Santa Maria Delle Grazie Last Supper Tip by CliffClaven

If you asked people to name the most famous paintings in the world, it's a good bet that Leonardo da Vinci's 'Last Supper' would be high on the list. Leonardo worked on the painting for four years and from the moment he finished it in 1498 it started to deteriorate. The latest restoration took twenty years and was completed only a few years ago. It's amazing anything has survived at all: the Dominican Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie that houses the painting was bombed during World War II and in the 19th century it was used as a stable.
