The Patio de los Arranyes or in English: The Myrtles Courtyard was where receptions were held for ambassadors and important guests and where they would meet the Sultan.

It gets it's name from the fact that myrtle lines the pool. Myrtle was often used in the gardens of Al-Analuz as they have a nice smell and are evergreens.

In the pool you can see an almost perfect reflection of the Comares tower. In fact I have actually turned my photo up side down so the reflection is at the top. It looks more atmospheric that way!
