"Birdwatching" Top 5 Page for this destination Comunidad Valenciana Favorite Tip by DanielF

Comunidad Valenciana General: 30 reviews and 37 photos

Favorite thing: The coastal area of the Valencian region used to be full of wetlands. marshes, lakes and moors. Sadly, many of them have already succumbed to speculation, intensive agriculture and tourism. The few ones that are left are still extremely exposed to these dangers.

However, there are still quiet a few wetlands where life flourishes and which are a key resting point for many migrating birds in Europe. The Albufera of Valencia is the most famous among the ones that have survived, but the saltmarshes of Saint Pola, the Fondo and many others are also worth to mention and a must for birdwatchers.
