  Findlater Castle
by stevezero

Situated about 1.5 kms west of the fishing village of Sandend lie the ruins of the once mighty three storey high Findlater Castle.
Built by the Ogilvie family in 1455, it was besieged by Mary Queen of Scots in 1562, during the Gordon rebellion.
Situated on a rocky precipice somme 15m above the sea overlooking the Moray Firth, the castle can only be reached by foot over a rocky headland.
This is not one for the faint hearted has there are no barriers or proper steps.

Address: About 50 miles NW of Aberdeen
Directions: 3 kms East of Cullen follow signs from the A98. Park at the car park by the farm, and its a 10 minute walk in hte direction of the sea.
