"Wimbachklamm" Berchtesgadener Alpen Things to Do Tip by elgin99
Berchtesgadener Alpen Things to Do: 8 reviews and 6 photos
Since many thousand of years the Wimbach has dug into the hard cliff, until this deep gulch has arised. At many places the water of the walls falls and catches itself in the hollow rock. The gorge is an old water trailing for wood.
As a recommended tour a nice wandering leads to the Wimbachschloss (a managed cottage), further to the Wimbachgrieshütte (overnight stay). Always between the Watzmann and along the imposing Hochkalter.
Interesting: The tour goes belong the water, until one reached a stone area which covers the Wimbach water. If one enters this field, one can see how the water (which is led underground to here) at all places from the stones gushes forth.
Address: Ramsau
Directions: from Bad Reichenhall or Berchtesgaden to parking places Wimbachbrücke
On website is a good map of this tour.
