  Convention Center & Baunhinia Flower
by karen75

My mother wanted to visit the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. I didn't know why because like most convention centers, I knew that there would be nothing to see inside. I guess what she wanted us to see was the big statue of the Bauhinia Flower around the back of the convention center. A lot of people come here to have their picture taken with the flower because it's Hong Kong's symbol flower. There's also another statue (tall black statue) that represents the separation of Hong Kong from British rule. There are good views of Kowloon from this area because it's right on the waterfront. Inside the convention center, they have a business center (I think it was) and I was able to use the internet for free to send a couple of emails. The Hong Kong & Kowloon post offices also have free internet access, although there is only one computer in each place.
