  Huntly Castle

There has been a castle on the site since 1180. Since that time the castle has had a bloody history and changed hands a few times.
In the 1550's the 4th Earl of Huntly turned the castle into a veritable palace.
Many fine features survive including a fine heraldic sculpture and inscribed stone friezes.
