In this small plaza is this statue of a mother and two children. As my wife is quite keen on mothers and babies (that is also her work), we MUST take pictures of all such statues.
This plaza provides a little break from the busy Merida streets. All streets in downtown Merida seem to be one-way, and the city uses a fairly easy road naming system. Roads that run north and south are called Calle #, where # are even numbers, and roads that run east and west are also called Calle #, but in their case the # is odd. So Plaza Grande - the main plaza downtown is at the corners of Calle 60 (one way north), Calle 61 (one way west), Calle 62 (one way south) and Calle 63 (one way east).
