Along the eastern shores of Lake Ontario lies one of the major snow belts of the US. Right in the middle of this winter wonderland is Altmar. Seasonal snowfall on the nearby Tug Hill Plateau averages around 200 inches per year.

The moral: Dress for success. Wear warm clothes, gloves, boots, and a hat. You will need all of this plus a few layers underneath.
