Bracknell Things to Do: 10 reviews and 10 photos
Lily Hill House is a prime example of later Georgian architecture built in the early Nineteenth Century. Originally the residential home of Henry and Isebella Vincent in 1817 and their decendants, the Lanes, but in 1955 the house was bought by Bracknell Development Corporation. Currently the house is privately owned and used as offices.
The adjoining Lily Hill Park estate, is an perfect example of the Victorian intuitiveness and grandeur, as the original estate included landscaped park and woodland. Today Lily Hill Park is undergoing an extensive renovation project funded by an 1.2 million pound Bracknell Borough Council and Heritage Lottery Fund grant to return the gardens and surrounding area to it's original condition.
Lily Hill Park is a perfect place to escape the busy, hectic lifestyle of the Twenty-First century. Experience the tranquil wooded surroundings, and reminisce with friends of past times, with an relaxing stroll through the park . Once the restoration plan is completed, hopefully it will return the park to it's former Victorian splendour, and the visitors can once again experience the gardens and woodlands in it's original setting.
