This is a lovely building. Located near our hotel also, just a short walk downtown.
It definitely reminds me of the movie "GHOSTBUSTERS"..did you see that one?

This building is considered one of the finest examples of Beaux-Arts-Style architecture in America. The library was a result of the merger between the ASTOR and LeNOX libraries. The library opened May 24, 1911.

The two lions were originially named Lady Astor and Lord Lenox but later renamed Patience and Fortitude by Mayor La Guardia.

The library is free to tour but please be quiet, people are studying...lol

Directions: Take 1,2,3,9 to 42nd Street and Broadway. Walk two blocks east to Fifth Avenue.
