For the first time visitors to Buenos Aires, a visit to Cafe Tortoni is tolerable. On this visit, in March 2005, it had become unbearably touristic, the service gone down, the argentines disappearing and the cost of coffee one of the highest in all of buenos aires. There are many many lovely coffee shops, in fact there is a book published with the best 100 coffee shops in Buenos Aires. a repeat visit is not worth it. The argentine intellectuals have stopped coming long time ago

Favorite Dish: Coffee
cafe cortado en jarrito

there is a live tango show some nights. dont forget this is a very touristic spot
