The famous Cubic houses are designed by Piet Blom, a dutch architect. It are cubics turned 45 degrees to both sides and put on a concrete pillar. At this way you get a very typical creation of houses that look like a modern kind of wood. Therefore it is also called the Blaakse Bos, the wood of Blaak (Blaak is the quarter in which the houses are built).

It is also possible to look inside a cubic house. One of them is open for tourists. It really nice to see how there is absolutely nothing in these houses that is straight. Everything is sloping. But nevertheless it really is possible to live in the houses.

The Public KijkKubus is opened 7 days a week, from 11:00-17:00. Entrance fee is ?1,80.

Address: Overblaak, Rotterdam
Directions: Very close to the Willemsbridge, right beside the Oude Haven.
