"Khafre's pyramid" Pyramid of Khafre - Chephren Tip by call_me_rhia

  Khafre's pyramid

Khafre - better known as Chefren - is the "owner" of the second large pyramid. He also happens to be Khufu's son.

Khafre's pyramid is slightly shorter than Khufu's pyramid - with 136,5 metres. This pyramid too, when it was built, used to measure some metres more: 143,5 metres, to be precise.

Look up towards the sky... you'll see that this pyramid is different from the others... it looks as if it has a cap. Well, this cap is what's left of the limestone "roof" that used to cover all Giza pyramids.

The inner part of the pyramid is less impressive than Khafu's pyramid, so I guess it's worth skipping it. You should pay closer attention, instead, the remains of the funerary temples, outside the pyramid.
