The Gullfoss in all its beauty
by brazwhazz

Iceland has so many waterfalls, you would expect it would get dull. But Gullfoss, part of Iceland's "Golden Triangle", is anything but dull!

Gullfoss is actually a combination of two falls totalling 32 metres. There are two pathways, one high and one low. If you take the lower one, you will find a monument devoted to SigrÝ˙r TˇmasdottÝr, who gained reknown when she walked all the way to RekjavÝk to stop the falls from being used in a hydroelectric project and threatened to throw herself into the falls if they were destroyed.

Before I forget: watergear is required, because if the wind picks up, you will get vert wet!
