The interior battery didn't look or smell pretty
by caaron

DO NOT rent from NQ Rentals. They were one of the cheapest companies around, but not worth the savings.

We rented a campervan for 2-3 weeks in June 2004 to travel from Brisbane to Townsville. The Brisbane depot did not seem to have their act together and had trouble getting the interior appliances working for us before we even left. That should've been the first sign.

We were told it would be new, but it was a 1998, and very worn down. The curtains had holes and parts were falling apart, held together with masking tape. The van leaked battery acid inside the vehicle (the battery for the internal appliances), which was unsafe and didn't smell nice when we had to sleep inside this campervan. The poptop canvas was filthy and had holes. The interior lamps were cracked and dangling by wires. The fridge could not be accessed from within the van, even though there was a door from within.

To top things off, the company did not return our A$5,000 deposit for several weeks. It took many phone calls from within Australia and abroad, after we had returned home. Customer service was not helpful as we were passed from one person to the next, and left many messages without anyone returning our calls. Save yourself the hassle and rent with someone else.
