Some of my fondest memories as a child are days my dad took us fishing. I got to be pretty good at it, but have forgotten much of what I knew, except that it's a relaxing way to spend a day.

There are two types of fishing in San Diego, salt water and fresh water.

Salt water fishing can be done from a boat or off one of the various piers found along the coast of San Diego. H & M Landing is a company located near Shelter Island and offers fishing trips for local and long range fishing.

Their fleet of ships for rent include luxury yachts, private charters as well as open party tickets, which is the most economical.
Albacore, tuna, yellowtail, Reds, Rockfish, Sand Bass, Perch and Sheephead are just a few names of fish that can be caught.

Fresh water fishing can be done from the shore, or from a row/motor boat at one of our many lakes. Usually, the yeild would be bass, trout or the bottom feeder, catfish.

Equipment: If you haven't your own fishing pole or boat, they can be rented and be sure to find out if a license is required. At some of the lakes an extra fee is charged, so check it out before beginning to fish.
