El Gauho: "Tourist trap" Prague Restaurant Tip by rsilva

I know, it's my fault. Who wants to go to El Gaucho in Prague?

Well, it was cold, it was our first day in Prague, we were hungry and the girl at the door lured us in with some pictures of really nice-looking meat.
Since all of us were meat-lovers, we decided to give it a try.

Why this was not a good choice:
- It is not Czech cuisine or anything like it (we know before we went in).
- It is a big tourist trap, everything looked fake.
- It was about 3 times more expensive than any other restaurant we ate at.

The steak was not bad, but not as good as any Argentinian/Uruguayan steak house you can find back in the Netherlands (or in US/Canada, for that matter).
Service was tourist-oriented with our waiter trying to sell us everything he had on the menu.

The first item on the bill says 1 Italy, Spain Price 0... I guess we really did get the tourist prices.

Address: Kenvelo Center, Wenceslaw square 11, Prague 1
Comparison: more expensive than average
Price: US$41 and up
Rating: 2
Theme: Steakhouse

Review Helpfulness: 4.5 out of 5 stars
