Peru General: 206 reviews and 170 photos

Fondest memory: Most tourists/ visitors still choose to arrive in this lost city via the famed Inca Trail. There are trails from 2 to 9 days; the most
common are the 2-day and the 4-day trails. The only prerequisite that will qualify you to take this road to Machu Picchu - Be in excellent physical health!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Cough!! Cough!!).

The second day of the trail crosses a scenic pass where you'd catch awesome views of glaciers, white summits and the mythical subtropical forest. On the 4-day trail (which we took), various ruins can be seen and the guide will explain with charming pride and with great gusto what these places represented in the empire of the Incas, Tahuantinsuyu. And there, lo and behold - you'd finally find the Lost City of Machu Picchu - situated on one side of the mountain. Don't email me and ask me how to get there. I suggest you hire a good Peruvian guide. But if you pay me, Mmmmmmmm.....!
