As this is a melding of two pictures, you'll have to click on the pic to get the full picture. Literally.
Salisbury Waters is a special place. To be there on your own, safe in the knowledge that no-one else will be invading your privacy or thoughts, is the type of euphoric experience that draws bushwalkers out in to the wilderness.
There is a special atmosphere. The babbling of the waters through the granite gaps, the varied rustlings of the different tree species, the birds twittering from place to place. And yet there is a background stillness that you can never hear but are always aware of.
The word "magical" springs readily to mind.
This is the apex of a 4-5 hour round trip, the latter part down a steep incline. Only the fit need apply.
It starts near Dangar Falls, around 19kms south east of Armidale.
