Get a taste of Chinese street opera right here in Singapore! A good place to catch these performances is in Clarke Quay, along the Singapore river.

As you approach the stage, you will be welcomed by a clanging of cymbals that is almost to the point of deafening and shrill musical voices singing in falsetto! For the uninitiated, Chinese opera can be very mysterious at best and unfathomable at worst! It's another once in a lifetime experience, so enjoy the performance! Don't bother even if you don't understand what the hell these entertainers are singing!!! Remember, you are coming here for the EXPERIENCE! No need to fly up all the way to Beijing for opera now!
