Bandung is reachable by car, from Jakarta it takes about 2-3 hours. You can take the Puncak or Sukabumi or Jonggol routes. You'd better go by car with someone who knows the way.

On your way, you might be stuck in a traffic jam. Be aware of people offering an alternative way, trying to direct you through a small street. Again, you should be with someone who really knows the field, because that might not be a better way to go. And those people expect some money in return.

Traffic jams are most likely in Padalarang, a small town near the Bandung city.
