Smithfield Cafe: "Go where the cabbies go!" Top 5 Page for this destination Smithfield Cafe Tip by Mariajoy

Smithfield Cafe, London: 1 reviews and 1 photos

When wandering round London the cheapest places to eat are the little cafes where the London cabbies take their breaks.

Just opposite Smithfield market is this tiny cafe - run by three Chinese staff, this place is the size of the average garden shed and with orange plastic seating for 16, there's barely enough space. You can get a cup of tea (no posh choices - just standard orange Brit-tea) 40p for a medium or 60p for a large - in a big white mug. You can get egg, chips, bacon, toms and toast for ?3.40.

Oh and the other thing about this cafe - there will be smokers sitting at the same table so be prepared - and don't complain, this is a working man's cafe.

Favorite Dish: The tea was all I had but the cabbies seemed to be enjoying their fry-ups!
