"Small, Charming Room" Sandton Hotel de Filosoof Amsterdam Tip by Erin09340

Sandton Hotel de Filosoof Amsterdam, Amsterdam: 392 reviews and 9 photos

The first room they gave us was very narrow, but clean and comfortable, and decorated in an Art Deco theme. Unfortunately, this room was on the street, and was so loud. I swear, I heard someone drop a quarter on the street. We requested a switch to the back of the hotel. All they had available was a small attic room. It was so blissfully quiet compared to the other. Also, clean and comfortable.

Unique Qualities: All the rooms have themes, philosophers, ancient Egypt, Art Deco, etc. The rooms are small, but I think that's the case with a lot of hotels in Amsterdam. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Some people on other sites complain that this hotel is too far from the action. We didn't find this to be the case and rather enjoyed walking through the park or taking the tram.
