Don't you hate it when you go to a restaurant with great expectations and are disappointed....well that won't happen at Le Vacherin!!

Braving a cold winters night, we ventured to Le Vacherin and had a fabulous evening with fellow VT'er Sarah (londonbabe) and her boyfriend Steve.

It is a relaxed French Bistro style restaurant, happily completely non-smoking, and the waiting staff are all very French - in fact our waiter confessed that he was really an accountant who got sick of number crunching and came to London to practice his English, and this was the only job he could get....well, that kind of explained his less than perfect waiting skills....but he more than made up for it with his friendliness and for being so fabulously French!

Favorite Dish: The speciality of the house is a Baked Vacherin - a gooey baked cheese....we didn't try it this time, but may have to go back for it.

Instead we all ate the Chateaubriand, served with French beans, chips, bearnaise sauce and roast bone marrow. It was delicious and filling. Alex and I managed to squeeze in some dessert - a very creamy Creme Brulee and Valrhona Chocolate Mousse - well we had a bit (lot) of help from Sarah & Steve...even though they were "way to full" to order anything themselves ; ))

Oh, and they have a good wine list too.

All in all a great experience!
