Alex's cousin and his wife were visiting London from Australia and wanted to meet up for an early dinner, so we headed to a popular gastro pub close to our work, called the Stonemasons Arms.

Located a little off the beaten track, in Hammersmith, West London, it is renowned as being one of the best gastro pubs in this part of town.

It was fairly quiet when we first arrived - around 6pm, but over the next couple of hours filled up nicely. Happily we were given a nice table near a heater - it was a freezing evening - and settled down for a few hours of wine, food and catching up on the last couple of years.

Favorite Dish: The menu is varied and quite reasonably priced. Alex really wanted to try the Bison, but it was sold out by the time we ordered dinner. We settled for some steak, served with tasty chips and salad. I tried the sticky date pudding for dessert and it was possibly the worst I have ever had : (
