  Sultanate palace

It took me quite a while to get around to actually visiting this replica palace. I was always one of these people that just stood outside and gazed for the longest time and never actually went in, until i revisited melaka (a year after id stopped working there) on holiday with a friend.

They give you a bag, in which to deposit your shoes, as the entire palace is made entirely from wood and in the old techniques so id imagine they dont want the floor scuffed from lots of visitors.

Inside is rather like a museum of Malaysia's royal family with different costumes (from the different states) and such all on display along with other Royal items.

Entry is quite cheap at around 2RM for a westerner, and is about average for museum prices around Melaka.

Id say it was worth it if you're interested in royal history of malaysia, or if you've got a few hours to spare, but otherwise, the most interestin part is just looking from the outside....
