Let's be frank. We didn't read any restaurant reviews or get any advice in picking this restaurant. My cousin just suggested that the Puerto Moldano area was a great place to find a restaurant than the misquitoes dictated the rest. As we walked along the canal, we were assaulted by large, insistently hungry misquitoes, so we picked the first resturant that offered inside eating -- Tierra de Parrilleros.
This was a good choice. Of course, the misquitoes didn't stay outside as we sat down to eat. With every new customer, they flew through the door and found us, mysteriously ignoring the restaurant staff, who seemed to have some genetic immunity. But then a waiter saw us slapping ourselves and cleaning boold off our legs and gave away hios secret -- bug repellant!
"Would you like some OFF?" he asked.
We quickly took him up on his offer and went outside and sprayed every inch of exposed skin. Then we could enjoy our steaks in peace.
Oh, incidently, the food was great! THe steaks were HUGE, juicy and perfectly cooked. The wine was excellent and the side veggies (which come a la carte) well prepared. We stuffed ourselves so much that we couldn't dare think of checking out the bar scene. We returned to our hotel to sleep off the side of meat we just consumed.
