  Salikent Canyon, Turkey

Saklikent, is a huge valley and a canyon which goes 14 km inland

It is unbelievably high and narrow between two mountains.

If you want to see the the canyon prepare to get wet!

The entrance has a pathway fixed to the side of the canyon. Then you have to walk though a waterfall - guaranteed to be up to your knees and you have to hold onto a rope to stop you being swept away.

Once you are through the waterfall the river becomes more of a shallow stream and its easier to walk up. Eventually you come to some large boulders and you have to climb up those within the stream to continue.

One you have finished all that and have returned to the large waterfall there are plenty of cafes built over the stream where you can lounge around, sip apple tea and dry off.

Don't wear your Sunday best for this trip!
